Treating and Preventing Adolescent Mental Health Disorders is organized into eight parts and thirty-two chapters.
The parts are:
Information about the commission members who authored these parts may be found at the beginning of each part. Each of the first six parts contains chapters on defining the disorder, treatment, prevention, and a research agenda. Part VII consists of one chapter, The Positive Perspective on Youth Development. Part VIII includes chapters on stigma; the research, policy, and practice context for delivery of evidence-based mental health treatments; the treatment system for adolescent substance abuse; the role of primary care physicians in detection and treatment of adolescent mental health problems; the roles and perspectives of school mental health professionals in promoting adolescent mental health; and a call to action.
